They are involved in the largest improvement programme the Tube has ever seen, tripling investment and committing over £4.5 billion to improve the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines in the first 7½ years – the equivalent of spending over £1.6 million per day. Sammis ProjectLocated in Stratton, Ohio, the site covers 187 acres along the Ohio River between East Liverpool and Steubenville. W. H. Sammis is FirstEnergy’s largest coal-fired power plant in Ohio. Seven coal-fired units and five oil-fired peaking units produce 2,316 megawatts (MW) of electricity. Four coal-fired units, each with a185 MW capacity, came on line between 1959-1962. Since then, Units 5-7 came on line between 1967-1972. Reliance Project Based in India On shore/Off Shore Oil refinery, Bechtel and Reliance Petroleum Ltd are expanding Jamnagar in a project that will create the world’s largest oil refining operation. Building the new refinery entails over 200,000 engineering and supplier documents. The site covers an area bigger than London and more than 70,000 workers will be employed during the peak of construction. Elm Road The Elm Road Generating Station (ERGS) being constructed by the Wisconsin Electric Power Company is located on the shore of Lake Michigan in the city of Oak Creek, WI. The project involves the construction of two new coal-fired electric generating units and common facilities to accommodate up to 3,000 megawatts of generation at the site. Facilities associated with the proposal include a modified and expanded cooling water intake structure, dock extension, new discharge outfall, access roads, railroad improvements and storage areas.
